Background Checks

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE “CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK”

Our Lady of Good Counsel, in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Seattle, has implemented a process for healthy relationships in all volunteer ministry positions, particularly where there may be risk to children and vulnerable adults.

Some of the positions listed among our ministries require a criminal background check for the volunteer who wishes to serve. These background checks are provided by the parish at no charge to the volunteer and will be performed only after obtaining written permission from the volunteer.

All emloyees and any volunteer working with at risk populations will be given a background permission sheet at the time of employment or during the Safe Environment Training Program. For more information, contact the parish office.
