Protecting the Vulnerable

Our Lady of Good Counsel, in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Seattle, has implemented a process for healthy relationships in all volunteer ministry positions, particularly where there may be risk to children or vulnerable adults. 

Some of the ministry positions at our parish require a Safe Environment Training Class and a criminal background check for the volunteer who wishes to serve. Both the background checks and the training class are provided by the parish at no charge to the volunteer. Additionally, the background checks are performed only after obtaining written permission from the volunteer.

Note: You need not take the class at Our Lady of Good Counsel or Holy Disciples. If another parish is offering the class at a more convenient time, please register to take the training with them.
